MUSIC LESSONS SINCE 1994
Mrs. Yi is from Seoul, Korea. She studied music as a piano major receiving a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Masters of Music Education Degree from University in Seoul, Korea. In the fall of 1988, she came to America pursuing her love of music. This time, she focused on studying organ at NIU and received a Masters of Music Degree and a Performer’s Certificate in Organ Performance.
In 1994, after teaching music for 15 years, Jea founded the SoLee Music Studio in Belvidere, IL. Currently, she is the director of the studio, a Kindermusik teacher and instructs students from beginning to advanced levels. She offers group and private lesson. She enjoys fostering in her students a love for music and preparing them to successfully perform.
Over the past 35 years, Jea has also performed as a pianist and organist in churches throughout Korea and the United States. She has been served many Church in Rockford.
Furthermore, Jea is an active member in the Greater Rockford Music Teachers Association, The Rockford American Guild of Organist, and a performing member of Mendelssohn Performing Art Center. She is a Chair of Young Musician Series Recital and Hostess for Organ Music at Noon Concert program.
